What is LAUCC?

The LAU Case Competition was founded in 2018 as Lebanon's first consultancy case competition for undergraduate students.

Students join in teams and move through training, qualifying rounds, mentorship, company cases, and a final pitching event.

The competition is built around practice. Participants learn how to understand a business problem, decide what information matters, work through the problem with their team, develop a recommendation, and explain why that recommendation makes sense.

As teams progress, the cases become more demanding and participants begin working with mentors, professionals, judges, and partner companies.

LAUCC's 10th Edition

Solve Real Business Challenges.

The LAU Case Competition brings undergraduate students from universities across Lebanon together to learn how to solve business problems, work under pressure, receive professional guidance, and compete as a team.

LAUCC is open to students from different majors and universities who want to build practical skills and put them to use.

✓ Teams of 3–4 students
✓ All majors are welcome
✓ Cross-university teams are allowed
✓ No previous consulting experience required

02 | Why Participate

Why Participate

Learn How to Solve Business Problems

Cases teach you how to take a broad problem and break it into smaller questions.

You may need to understand why a company is losing money, whether it should enter a new market, how it should respond to a change in its industry, or how it can improve part of its business.

Your job is to decide what matters, support your thinking with evidence, and reach a recommendation that you can defend.

Build Practical Skills

Throughout LAUCC, participants work on skills that are useful well beyond case competitions.

These include:

  • Problem solving
  • Research
  • Financial analysis
  • Data interpretation
  • Presentation design
  • Public speaking
  • Teamwork
  • Time management
  • Decision-making

Learn Before You Compete

You are not expected to arrive knowing how consulting cases work.

Before the main competition rounds, participants go through the LAUCC Academy. The Academy introduces the skills and methods teams will later use when solving cases.

This gives participants from different academic backgrounds a common starting point.

Receive Professional Guidance

Teams that advance move into a mentorship stage.

Mentors can help teams review their work, question assumptions, identify gaps in their analysis, and improve how they communicate their recommendations.

In the 2026 edition, 40 of 69 teams moved into the mentorship stage and were connected with mentors and professionals.

Work on Company Cases

Later in the competition, qualifying teams work on cases connected to LAUCC partner companies.

This gives participants the chance to work on problems linked to real industries and business environments rather than only classroom examples.

Partner companies evaluate the submitted solutions and select teams to move forward.

Meet People Outside Your University

LAUCC brings together students from different universities and academic backgrounds.

Throughout the year, participants may also interact with mentors, consultants, judges, speakers, and company representatives.

This gives students access to people and perspectives they may not normally encounter through their university courses.

Gain Career Exposure

Previous editions have included internships, mentorship opportunities, professional development programs, networking, and other career opportunities through participating companies.

The exact opportunities available in 2027 will depend on the companies participating in this edition.

03 | How It Works

How It Works

  1. Phase 1

    Registration

    Registration opensSeptember 21, 2026

    Team registration closesNovember 16, 2026

Start by forming a team of 3–4 undergraduate students.

Your teammates do not need to attend the same university and do not need to study the same major.

One Team Registration Form is submitted for the entire team. The Team Captain serves as the main point of contact between the team and LAUCC.

  2. Phase 2

    LAUCC Academy

Before the main case rounds begin, participants go through the LAUCC Academy.

The Academy prepares students for the competition by introducing the skills they will later need when solving cases. (Check below)

    The planned 2026–2027 program includes:

    • Introduction to Case Solving
    • Data-Driven Consulting
    • Financial Analysis
    • Data Visualization and Communication
    • AI and Consulting Skills for the Future Job Market
    • Practical Case-Solving Sessions
    • Public Speaking and Pitching
  3. Phase 3

    Qualifying Rounds

    General timingMarch 2027

The qualifying stage is where teams begin applying what they learned during the Academy.

Teams receive case material, analyze the problem, develop a recommendation, and submit their work for evaluation.

A strong submission needs more than an interesting idea. Teams should be able to explain the problem clearly, support their recommendation with analysis, and show that the proposed solution makes sense in practice.

Selected teams move forward to the next stage.

  4. Phase 4

    Mentorship

    Mentorship periodApril 5–16, 2027

Teams that qualify move into the mentorship stage.

The purpose of mentorship is to help teams improve before they begin working on partner cases.

Mentors may review a team's approach, question assumptions, point out weaknesses, and help participants communicate their ideas more clearly.

  5. Phase 5

    Partner Presentations and Cases

Partner presentations and casesApril 19–30, 2027

The partner stage brings participants closer to the companies involved in the competition.

Partner presentations introduce teams to the companies, their industries, and the business context behind the cases.

Eligible teams then work on cases connected to participating companies.

The companies evaluate the submitted solutions and identify the teams that will advance to the Final Event.

  6. Phase 6

    Final Event

    May 21, 2027 - LAU Beirut Campus

The Final Event brings the competition together in person.

Finalist teams present their solutions directly to company representatives and answer questions about their analysis, decisions, and recommendations.

At this stage, teams are tested on both the quality of their solution and their ability to explain and defend it clearly.
